Description:
This is a used handmade bit made by Texas maker Danny Pollard. Danny is listed in Bits and Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. The bit is marked D. Pollard 141 inside one cheek piece and Merkel, TX inside the other cheek piece. The bit is steel with a natural patina and is mounted with nickel silver and copper flower and leaves. The mouth piece is overlaid with copper on the bars and underneath port. There is some rust and marks on the mountings from use. Collars are in good shape and don’t show that much wear. This would make a using bit or a nice one to add to a collection.

Measurements: Mouth Piece (measured between collars) 5”, Cheek Pieces a little less than 9”, Bars Diameter ˝”, Port Height 2”, Bit Weight 18.3 ounces
