He is black-footed, clean-legged, and truly a beautiful example of a gentle giant. Champagne has a long, wavy mane and a full, flowing tail that nearly drags the ground. His ground manners and disposition are second to none. Champagne is gentle, quiet, docile, and exceptionally trustworthy. He rides just as well in the arena as he does out on the trails and has been exposed to nearly everything you could ask of a seasoned using horse. He has been ridden in traffic and around wildlife, cattle, farm machinery, motorcycles, cats, and dogs. Champagne has been used in lessons for riders of multiple skill levels, helped start young colts under saddle, and carried the flag at numerous youth and open rodeos. He has been shown by many different kids in 4-H, competing in English, Western, and Ranch Horsemanship. He crosses deep water, ditches, and logs without hesitation and has even been ridden in parades. This big gelding is as dependable as they come. Champagne is easy to catch, gets along great with other horses, and stands like a statue at a mounting block or picnic table to get on or off. He does not get in a hurry on the trail, yet he has plenty of buttons when you ask. He sidepasses, stops hard, turns around one-handed, and lopes off on command. We have even shot guns and fireworks off of him. You might say Champagne is about as close to bombproof as they come. For such a large horse, Champagne is an exceptionally athletic and beautiful mover. He has a smooth, easy way of going and carries plenty of flat knee action in his extended trot. His agility and athleticism are impressive for a horse of his size. One of Champagne’s greatest qualities is his consistency. He can stand in the stall for weeks and ride off the very same way every time—gentle, calm, quiet, and collected. Champagne sells 100% sound in every way and has no bad habits or vices.
