We bought Poncho several years ago from a buddy of mine that manages a cattle ranch. He got Poncho as a 2 year old and rode him on the ranch moving cattle, doctoring, dragging calves and whatever else needed done. Poncho has been one of our personal mules. He has been the one that Laura has ridden on summer pack trips, in the fall hunting or anytime she goes into the back country. We call Poncho the sports car of the mule world. He’s all there when you ask it of him but he stays gentle and not out of control. He is an absolute blast to ride. He rides around like a horse moves off leg pressure and will go where you point him. Poncho is easy to catch, good to shoe, loads and does what’s asked of him. He’s also spent his time in the pack string and will pack anything you load on him. If you’re looking for a fun mule to ride that will put a smile on your face every time you saddle him up Poncho checks the boxes.
