Overview

A family-owned cow-calf and row-crop operation Neodesha, Kansas is hiring a full-time Farm & Cattle Hand. The operation runs 350 fall-calving cows and farms 3,500 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat.



This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both livestock and farming with steady hours, newer John Deere equipment, and an operation that values reliability and initiative.



Key Responsibilities

Daily cattle care including feeding, health checks, and pasture management.

Assist with fall calving, tagging, and working calves.

Operate John Deere tractors and haying equipment (mower, rake, baler).

Help with planting, harvest, and general row-crop work.

Feed cattle using a feed truck; drive truck as needed (CDL helpful but not required).

Maintain and repair fences, corrals, and equipment.

Perform general farm upkeep and shop work during slower months.



Qualifications

Cattle or farming experience preferred; willing to train motivated applicants.

Able to operate and maintain tractors and equipment safely.

Mechanically inclined, dependable, and self-motivated.

Valid driver’s license required; truck/trailer experience a plus.



Compensation & Schedule

Full-time, year-round position.

Guaranteed 40 hours/week (extra hours during planting, harvest, and calving).

$40,000–$55,000/year, depending on experience.

Health insurance stipend available.

Housing stipend and support in finding a place in town only 5 miles away from the farm/ranch.

Sundays off unless necessary for weather or livestock.
