Description:
The Cowboy position is responsible for the daily care, movement, and health of cattle within a preconditioning yard environment. This role requires strong horsemanship skills, an understanding of animal behavior, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. A successful candidate will ensure cattle are handled humanely and efficiently to maintain health, performance, and welfare standards. The cowboy position could mix feed rations and feed cattle by way of a tractor and feed wagon. El Zacate has center pivot irrigation systems, so attaining an understanding of how to turn on/off and identify problems with pivots will be expected. A prior understanding of pivots is not a requirement.
