14.3hh. Captain is a gentle, beautiful, dark, bay gelding and has that gorgeous, shapely quarter horse look! He is a great size for adults and youth, and stands 14.3 hands. He is an in-your-pocket type of horse that loves to be loved on, very personable, and is easy to catch, shoe, bathe, and clip! Want to jump on bareback, swim in a pond, or just hang out, he’s cool with all of that! He has no spook, buck, bite, or kick. He has been around traffic, dogs, chickens, kids, cats, side-by-sides, and anything in-between. Nothing bothers him! We have used Captain in parades, 4H, ranch work, and trail riding. Before he came to our home he was used in high school rodeo team roping. Captain requires maintenance for heavy riding due to arthritic front knees. He also has a saddle mark on his right wither as well as a superficial wire scar on his left front pastern (this scar does not affect his soundness). He has that highly sought-after beautiful slow trot, and smooth slow lope. Captain has a nice one-handed neck rein and responds well to leg pressure. He is not a dead-head, but prefers to take life slow! Captain does have arthritic front knees, and requires maintenance for heavy riding.
