Meet the horse known affectionately at our barn as “Hugo”. Hugo is built double tough with a big heart and an outstanding personality. Standing at 15.3 hh, he’s big boned and deep in the girth with beautiful confirmation. Hugo is the perfect all around package! Hugo has proven himself time and time again both in the arena and out on the ranch. He’s been a trusted partner for all aspects of ranch life from checking fences and gathering big groups of cattle, to pen work, doctoring, and even roping in the pasture. He’s seen every phase of ranch work and handles it all with a willing attitude. Beyond ranch duties, Hugo has also been our go to for enjoyable trail rides whether in a group or solo on a quiet afternoon. He confidently crosses rivers, logs, steep hills, and open fields, and he takes wildlife, traffic, dogs, and other people on the trails all in stride without fuss. In the arena, Hugo is ESPECIALLY in his element with an attitude set on aiming to please. He has a beautiful one hand neck rein, always catches his leads, has smooth transitions and an all around FUN handle that make him a blast for riders of any level. His smooth trot and lope make him comfortable to sit, and he’s a pretty mover with a great extended trot. Hugo is easy to haul, settles quickly in new places, and is just as dependable at playdays as he is at a friend’s place for a trail ride. He’s the complete package, great minded and well trained. Hugo would excel with you at the local barrel races, trail competitions, ranch classes, ropings, real world ranch work and more. Whatever you’re looking for, Hugo will fit the bill.
