Standing 15 hands, he’s the ideal size: stout enough to do a full day’s work but handy and athletic enough to get around in any kind of country. We’ve owned him for over a year now, and in that time, he’s proven himself on every kind of job. Echo is a finished heel horse with all the experience and handle to back it up. Quiet in the box, consistent down the lane, strong to the horn, and automatic on the face—he’s ready for jackpots or to go straight to work. He’s also been used extensively for day work, dragging calves, doctoring cattle outside, sorting, branding, and covering big country. He ropes both ends but is most solid and confident on the heel side, as he’s been my go-to heel horse for all rodeos and jackpots for sometime now. Echo has been used at the sale barn, in tight alleyways, around fresh cattle, and under pressure—he handles it all with a level head and willing attitude. He’s never fresh, even with time off. Saddle him cold or bridleless and bareback—he’s the same horse every time. He rides out solo or in a group, loads and hauls like a pro, and stands tied quietly all day.
