Description:
Nichols is a striking black gelding who offers the rare combination of size, athleticism, and heart. His Friesian/AQHA cross gives him both the elegant look and movement of a Friesian, combined with the versatility and work ethic of a Quarter Horse. Nichols has extensive mountain experience – he crosses large logs, walks through streams and rivers, and has been utilized on overnight trips; he has also been packed on and is steady and confident in rough country. Nichols also spent time this spring on a working cattle ranch, which included exposure to gathering, sorting, and branding. He is soft in the bridle, moves easily off leg pressure, has a nice stop, and has three natural gaits in the arena, having been ridden both English and Western by his previous owner. Nichols thrives on purpose and connection – he bonds with his rider and enjoys having a job. He is naturally friendly, willing, and gentle; he has never offered to buck, rear, spook, or act maliciously, but would do best with a consistent and confident partner. Nichols trailers well, stands tied quietly, is easy for the farrier, and is sound with no notable vices.
