Description:
BUCKLIN, KANSAS – Sellard Farms is seeking to fill a full-time cattleman position.



This position requires cow/calf and animal health experience. Candidates must possess skills in breeding, calving, handling, and feeding cattle. Self-motivation and prior livestock experience are required and must work effectively independently or as part of the team.



PLEASE NOTE: This is not a cattle operation that utilizes horses in its operation and an applicant MUST have prior cow/calf experience.



REQUIREMENTS:

- Cow/calf animal care/feeding experience: 1 year

- Current/Valid US Driver’s License

- Able to work year-round; not seasonal

- Ability to relocate to the immediate Bucklin, KS area

- Ability to work in a physically demanding role in all weather conditions

- Can speak and understand English or at least bi-lingual if not primary language

- No felonies



COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

- Competitive pay based on experience; $15-$22/hr

BUCKLIN is primarily a farming focused community located in southwest Kansas with a population of 750 and is an easy 27-mile drive southeast of Dodge City. The school is located within city limits and is a K-12 facility with a desirable student-to-teacher ratio. Bucklin has shopping and retail located throughout; businesses include a John Deere dealership, Dollar General, banks, hardware store, restaurants, flower shop/boutiques, auto/farm parts, tire/lube shop, automotive repair, welding, and local grain cooperative. There are 4 hospitals within a 35-mile radius with Fire and EMT Services located within Bucklin.
