Description:
We are looking for an experienced colt rider/starter to add to our family owned operation in eastern Oregon.



Job Duties include but are certainly not limited to:



-Starting and riding colts almost daily

-Helping feed horses and sometimes cattle

-Some stall cleaning

-Weed spraying/control

-Some assistance in horse breeding

-Some irrigation

-Some help farming in the summer



We own a smaller broodmare band and have our own stud on the property that we breed to. We also haul mares to be AI’d by other studs so there may be some transportation included in the job. The horses that we raise are mostly running bred but all are started and used on the ranch before being sold. We like to produce the most versatile horse possible.



The ranch also runs a herd of about 400 head of cattle so some days re spent working and/or moving cattle. We are not all related but we are all a family and try to help each other out when needed.



A large perk to this position is that the employee will spend their winters in Arizona with us where we own a property. We take 10-15ish horses/colts down and ride and train in the warm weather while it is snowing at home.



Housing is available to the right applicant and there is room for a few personal horses.
