Description:
Pratt Feeders is looking for a Head Cowboy - Cattle Doctor. We are a 40,000 hd custom feeding operation who strives to be best in class with cattle care and quality. Pratt Feeders would fit well with a long term thinking person with a strong work ethic and solid understanding of pen riding, doctoring, hospital management, etc. We are a family oriented group who understand the balance between a feedyard workload and family time. This job will rotate weekends and holidays with the cattle manager but is flexible with family needs.



Key Responsibilities

-Lead/direct cowboy crew in all logistics and cattle movements.

-Organize pen riding, doctoring, go-homes, hospital management, post-mortem procedures.

-Assist Cattle Manager with managing shipping, receiving, and processing schedules.

-Work closely with cattle manager to maintain efficient work flow in the yard.

-Manage time and team effectively with strong organizational and people management skills.

-utilize basic computer knowledge for our daily records and operations.

-Horseback work is not necessary to do the job, but sometimes may be essential or even preferred.



Qualifications

-Positive attitude

-5 years experience pen riding and doctoring is preferred but not required.

-Open mindedness to new ideas or solutions to improve operations.

-Strong leadership and team management skills.

-Strength in time management, organization, and communication.
