Description:
Veltkamp Livestock, located in Manhattan, Montana, is seeking full-time and part-time positions for feedlot cow hands. We are a diverse feedlot with a capacity of 8,000 head. We feed bulls, steers, breeding heifers, spay heifers, etc. Each customer’s needs are different. We typically have cattle from September-June. We use the summer months to repair all fencing, scrape pens, haul manure, get equipment serviced, new construction of pens (continually expanding), and do some fishing (walleye). Duties include but not limited to:

*Shipping, receiving and processing cattle.

*Riding pens to identify sick or injured cattle. Doctoring cattle as necessary and recording animal health (having your own horse and tack is a plus).

*Working cattle, including tagging, branding, vaccinating, sorting & weighing as needed.

*Put out bedding during winter months.

*Fill in as feed truck driver as needed.

*Feedlot maintenance, including fixing fence, bunks and waterers.

*Heat detect and AI heifers in spring.

*Operate heavy equipment and good mechanical knowledge a plus!

*Work in adverse weather conditions.
