Description:
Rango is an athletic 12 yr old grade red roan QH gelding, stands 15h and stout, had 60 days professional training with Jason Lancaster of Pinnacle Stables in TN, has been started slow and correct on barrels and poles, been used to sort and push cattle, is tracking the sled on the heel side and breakaway, has plenty of trail miles, been extensively hauled and likes the scene, does require an experienced rider because he’s catty, watchy and sensitive to his rider so he’s not the right fit if you’re nervous or heavy handed, will ride fence or work pens all day, rides off in just a smooth snaffle to work or a twisted wire dogbone sweet six when he’s on the pattern. He is Hancock bred so he’s gritty and tough but papers are lost so he’s selling as grade. It wouldn’t take much at all to get him running clean and consistent and has the build and work ethic to make a really nice rope horse as well. Excellent ground manners, very easy keeper, nice handle, rides off the leg, picks up from the fence, loads, ties, etc. I’ve left him in the pasture for months and he’s ridden right off without a problem. No buck, bolt or rear to him. Plenty more I could say about him but he speaks for himself. He’ll be hauled through the local winter series if he isn’t sold and his price will increase with hauling. He’s a good, sure-footed trail horse but I’m negotiable to a performance or ranch home because he’s a cowboy’s horse and that’s really what he’s built for and prefers.
