If you are looking for a nicely broke horse you can ride on the ranch and on trails, but also have fun going to playdays and barrel races with on the weekends, then take a look at Dumplin. He is a quiet 11 year old gelding, 15.1 hh, well built and flashy with his big hip, flaxen mane, plenty of chrome and pretty head with a kind eye. Dumplin is APHA registered as “McKeag of Dumplins” #920,203. He is fully patterned, quick, has nice turns and has no alley issues, and is so broke you can do it all in just a halter. He is also a nice pleasure horse and rides quietly outside the arena as well. Dumplin is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and travels out well in the pasture. He has been broke the right way, with a excellent neck rein, good stop, he is good on both leads, will move off your leg, and work a gate. Dumplin has a smooth trot and rocking horse lope, rides on a loose rein and has plenty of speed when you ask him for it, but doesn’t get hot or chargey. He can be ridden by himself or in a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. He has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. Dumplin would also make an excellent drill team horse, as he handles so well.
