Sterling is a nicely built lineback dun mare, 15 hh with a big hip, thick mane and tail and tiger striping on her legs. She is 15 years old and very well bred, AQHA registered as “DGR Sterling Olena”, #4474348. Sterling has Doc O’Lena and Two Eyed Jack right on her papers. Sterling was originally used as a ranch horse when she was younger, and we have put just a handful of rides on her since pulling her up. She is a nice mare and will make an excellent pleasure horse or performance horse with just a little tune up. Sterling is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She travels out nicely in the pasture and can really cover some ground. She has a good one handed neck rein, stops easily, is good on both leads and will work a gate. Sterling can be ridden by herself or in a large group of horses with no problem. She will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. She has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. Sterling has never offered to buck, even on her first ride back after being off for several years, but she needs an experienced rider to give her a tune up as she can be a little watchy on the ground and rides a little tight.
