She has been used on the ranch, ridden on trails, ran barrels and poles, carried the flag in grand entries, and even done some competitive trail riding. Peeta loves having a job and will go all day long and never quit on you. She is a shapey 9 year old mare, GRADE, 14.1 hh and stout with a good hip, a ton of bone and a big foot. She grew up on a ranch where she was used for all phases of ranch work, including roping and gathering cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs, and tagging and doctoring calves. Peeta is an amazing trail horse who is not scared of anything, is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. She would make an excellent SHOT or ranch versatility horse, as she is very versatile and will do anything you ask of her. She had been turned out for a year before I got her, and the video shows her running barrels and poles for the first time since I have owned her. She has very good turns and runs flat and with just a little sharpening on the barrels and poles will be able to be very competitive again. Peeta will go any speed you ask her to and has plenty of speed when you ask her for it, and has no alley issues. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problems, and isn’t spooky. She has a good handle and stop, rides quietly on a loose rein, is good on both leads, does beautiful flying lead changes, will sidepass, and work a gate. Peeta is cowy and excels in the sorting pen, and she is good on the end of a rope. She is strong to the horn and stays quiet while working cattle. Peeta can be ridden by herself or in a large group of horses with no problem. She will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. Peeta has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. She would be an excellent step up horse for an experienced youth rider. She has absolutely no buck in her, but will not tolerate a harsh rider with heavy hands.
