These are our original "Marshall" cows. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click "Registered Brahman Herd" for a history on these cows.

We cannot over-describe these cattle. We hate to sell them! We have lost some critical lease pasture or they would never be up for sale. They are our oldest cows and also our BEST cows. They are the mamas to 6 generations of our Registered Herd. Ages are 11-13. They will probably mouth as 6-7 yr olds! They are solid as a rock and have lots of calves left in them. These cows could easily produce till they are 16-20 yrs old. You Brahman breeders know what we’re talking about. Bred to "681", our best "Hudgins 562" son that is just turning four yrs old. We’ve got some tremendous calves out of him. Good, sound udders and extremely fertile. Great disposition and will come to cake. Put these on your toughest pasture like we do and they will do fine! The first 5 photos were taken the week of March 10 and the last photo was taken last Fall before we took the calves off them. You talk about calf-raisers!

The calving is split due to past droughts, but all have calved every year with almost no exceptions. We don’t keep infertile cows and their calving record will reflect that. A few of these cows calved late last year; 10 or 12 of them. They will have big calves on them. We are planning on weaning the calves off them and they should be bred to calve next Fall to "Hoss", our Elephante son and original herd Bull that we started with. He was our original sire that most of our 3, 4, 5, & 6 yr old cows are sired by. The first two heifer crops we weaned off them bred 100% single sired, just like their Mamas! It shouldn’t be a surprise. Fertility is the most highly heritable trait, but it’s nice when it works out like it’s supposed to!

These cows are presently located on a brush pasture near Beeville and have not had a single bale of hay. The only supplements they have had are Mix 30 protein tubs and 1.5 lbs. of cake per day through the winter. They don’t get any hardier than these!

We never put a price on our cows unless we feel like they are a bargain. We will take $1,400 for these cows calving in the Spring and $1,250 for the ones calving in the Fall. BUT, we want to buy the heifer calves back next year weighing 500 lbs @ $1,100 and the bull calves @ $500, a 10 cent slide either way, weighing them with no shrink however you want, provided it’s fair. We’ll leave a $350 deposit and a contract on the calves as a gesture of good faith. Add $200 to the price of the cows and you can do whatever you want with the calves.

We don’t know if you have better investments, but we doubt it! These cattle will return almost 60% within a year! Wall Street would kill for this kind of return! Honestly, we’d like to have the calves back every year if we could pick the bulls.
