The duties and expected tasks to be completed by you on the ranch will include but not be limited to: • Oversight of a 500+/- head herd • Keeping tight and transparent records • Tagging calves • Calving out heifers • Pulling calves • Rotating, Sorting and Shipping Cows/Calves • Checking cows, fence, water and ranch land horseback and on ATV’s • Judging pasture and range condition • Improving pasture to optimize production • Planting winter Rye and other crops for cattle • Building, repairing and maintaining water systems, corrals, chutes, water wells and troughs • Welding • Feeding • Operating Heavy Equipment • Communicating clearly with the owners on progress of projects or plans • Representing the ranch and owner in a respectable and humble manner as you would your own property • Management of ranch employees • Providing daily tasks for the team • Working alongside the ranch hands in all tasks Qualifications: The owners of this property want to bring on someone that is well qualified and can get the job done without micromanagement. Therefore, we ask that one has these prerequisites. • Previous ranch management experience • Adequate in large projects • Operating Heavy Equipment • Planting with a no till drill • Experienced working cattle on horseback • Strong Record keeping skills • Prior cattle ranching experience • Rotating, Sorting and Shipping Cattle • Tagging Calves in the field • Calving out heifers and pulling calves • Experience working with water lines and wells • Good Public Relations to represent the ranch Overall, the landowners are looking for a very knowledgeable and driven individual who will work alongside the other employees and take initiative to finish the job. They will give you as much of the reigns as you can handle as long as you are proactive and working hard.
