Description:
If you are a beef producer and are worried about the direction the commercial beef industry is headed, you need to take a look at what we have to offer. The Irish Black® breed is engineered to meet the needs of today’s producer.

Our bulls developed on grass and hay and are are raised at 7000’ and PAP scored with the average score being 36! Bulls are fertility tested and guaranteed sound... Muscling is bred into the cattle, not fed into them!

Genetic Purity: The breed has four decades of closed book line-breeding behind it creating a very small gene pool. This allows the commercial producer to improve the quality and consistency of his calf crop.

Genetic Concentration: Genetic consistency ensures the ability of Irish Blacks® to transmit desirable genetic performance traits to their offspring.

Carcass Quality: Consistently score extremely high for carcass genetics, particularly in tenderness in marbling. Ultrasound data confirms consistent real world performance, and the hot performance on the rail is phenomenal.

Performance Traits

Bulls & the Breed in general:

• Large scrotal circumference and penis does not hang down or drag.

• Extreme longevity

• Hardy

• Mild Tempered

• Tolerance to heat, cold & drought, and the ability to work the range for forage.

• Moderate framed, cows mature at 1050-1250 lbs. and bulls at 1650-1900 lbs. which means they are cheaper to maintain than larger animals.

• High fertility and early maturity. Average of 50 -60 cows per Irish Black bull. Females reach puberty early, often cycling several times before their first breeding.
