Description:
Lone Mountain Ranch is located in Big Sky Montana and is just minutes away from Yellowstone National Park.



The ideal Head Wrangler will posses all skills of a Wrangler but will also have a minimum of 2 years Wrangler experience w/past employer references, demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a minimum of 5 years experience driving draft teams. This position could be year around after 6 month review.



The ideal wrangler candidate will demonstrate both excellent customer service and strong horsemanship skills.



Job duties include:



Guiding our guests on multiple trails around the ranch, teaching clinics and trailering horses and guests to Yellowstone Park for all day trail rides. Our guests stay for a week at a time, and come to ride! We lead walk, trot, and lope rides, all with a heavy instruction component.



Managing the health of our horse herd.



Perks:



-Wranglers may bring one personal horse for leading trail rides, a boarding contract, vaccination records, current coggins will be required and horses not suitable for leading rides should be left at home. Wrangler horses will run with our herd of 90+ horses and must be usable for trail riding.



-Accommodations and great food are offered with a small fee.



-All guest activities are available to staff (rafting, yoga, YNP park trips, canoeing, mountain biking, and hiking)



-We cannot accommodate dogs and are not able to provide family housing

• 1) Describe your horse experience, including your preferred discipline and any experience starting colts or riding green horses. Please be specific about the number of years of experience you have.

• 2) Do you have experience shoeing horses?

• 3) Do you have any experience teaching people to ride?

• 4) Your dates of availability between May 15th and October 15th. (Minimum availability is mid-May- to September 30th.

• 4) Would you plan to bring a horse with you? If so, please provide information about that horse, its level of training, and any experience it has had in a herd environment.

• Applicants who are unable to do a live riding interview will be required to submit a riding video after their application is reviewed.
