Assistant herdsman needed

We are a 700-head cow/calf/grass finishing operation located in central Ky. We are a primarily grass-fed operation with a structured rotation schedule year-round. We finish all calves and sell directly to the processing facility. We are spread over 5 counties with over 2000 acres. This is not a full-time riding position, however there will be plenty of saddle time as we move at least one group every day. Knowledge of cattle, horses, and pasture doctoring are a must. We as a team would like to see an individual that is interested in building a future with our operation.

Seeking a qualified individual to assist in day to day operations.

Daily responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Daily monitoring of cattle

Moving and doctoring of cattle

Calving out of fall and spring herd

Winter feeding

Fence and pasture upkeep as needed

Applicants need to have the following:

High school diploma or higher education

Valid driver’s license

5 yrs minimum experience in a cattle operation

Experience working, sorting, driving, doctoring, roping of cattle horseback

Experience operating machinery

*Grass-fed knowledge and experience a plus

Personal horses required





Compensation

$30,000/yr.

Housing available

Horse pasture available

Work truck available
