Description:
Shadow is a cute dappled grey mare with a sweet personality and an easy ride. She is 14.3 hh and nicely built with a good hip, pretty head and a kind eye. She is really flashy, with her dapples and black mane and tail. Shadow is gentle with no buck in her, even if you do not ride her regularly. She is extremely friendly and will search you out to get attention, and is the first one to come up to you in the pasture and put her head in the halter. Shadow is 13 years old and originally came off of a ranch in Wyoming, but has been used primarily as a trail horse for the last 7 years or so. She is excellent out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, isn’t spooky, and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Shadow rides quietly on a loose rein, and will lope if asked although she prefers to do more walking and trotting than loping. She has a good handle and stop, and smooth gaits that are easy to sit to. Shadow is not mare-ish at all, can be tied and trailered next to mares or geldings, and is turned out in the pastures with both mares and geldings and gets along great with both. She has never offered to buck, rear, take off, bite, kick, or anything of the sort. We have hauled her all over to different ranches and state parks and she rides just as good away from home as she does at home. Shadow can be ridden out by herself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Shadow has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask her to, and saddles and bridles easily.
