Horses like him are getting so hard to find! He lives up to his name, with his nice build, good pedigree, and incredibly willing disposition. Hollywood is a 10 year old sorrel gelding, 15hh and AQHA registered as “BLH Hollywood Sonoita” # 5009053. He is very well bred, by a grandson of Hollywood Dun It and Two Eyed Jack, and out of a Peppy San/Doc Quixote bred mare. He is the first to come up to you in the pasture, and really loves attention. He has always been treated kindly and well taken care of, and has no issues or bad habits. He does not need to be ridden regularly to stay gentle! Hollywood is an excellent trail horse or arena horse. There isn’t a thing that spooks him or bothers him, and he has absolutely no buck in him. Hollywood came from some friends who had owned him for several years. He was their go to horse for when friends or guests came to the ranch and needed a safe horse to take out. He can be trusted with just about any level of rider and will not take advantage of a green rider. He will adjust himself to the level of the rider, so beginners and advanced riders can all enjoy him. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Hollywood has the smoothest trot ever, whether you are doing a slow jog or a fast trot, it is easy and comfortable to sit to, and a rocking horse lope. He really wants to get his butt in the ground when he stops, and he will stand quietly all day long if you want him to. Hollywood is wonderful to ride bareback, with his smooth gaits and round back. He handles even better in a halter than he does in a bit, and will even ride with nothing but a rope around his neck. We have swung a rope off of him and drug the tire and that doesn’t bother him at all. Hollywood has mainly been used as a pleasure horse but he has a good mind and plenty of athletic ability and could easily go do anything a person wanted him to do. All he needs is a little finishing on his handle and he could do Ranch Versatility shows, playdays, or competitive trail rides. Hollywood has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask him to, and saddles and bridles easily. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Hollywood has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
