Needing a ranch hand:



Location: SW Missouri



Job Description: Must be experienced with pairs, NO EXCEPTIONS. We run about 500 registered Angus cows and 500-800 commercial cows. Needs to be able to work cows calmly and with a level head. We feed cattle with feed trucks, we check cattle out of feed trucks, and we doctor cattle from a feed truck. We ride horses to gather cows (which we do multiple times a week) but the majority of the time you’ll be in a feed truck. We use Hydra beds to hay cattle and have feed bins on the truck as well. You must be able to spot and doctor (with a dart gun) a sick cow or calf.



We use John Deere tractors to feed hay and to mow, rake, and bale hay. We run our registered cows on a grazing system that’s sectioned off into 10 acre paddocks that we rotate them around on during the grazing season. We would prefer you to have previous knowledge of electric fence work but will train the right person (we currently have a hired hand who handles the grazing system).



We don’t require you to ride a hose but would prefer someone who could. We can provide a horse for you to ride. Must be able-bodied to work a couple hundred cows in a day, able to put out salt and mineral, fix fence, or do any other tasks required to work on a ranch.



Housing is available and we would prefer to discuss wages instead of posting here what we’re set on paying. We understand some people have more experience and/or a family.



Weekend feeding (most weekends during winter/feeding season) is required.



We expect you to be honest, on time, and ready to work.
