Description:
SOLD ...Pair of hand made spurs by well known Texas maker Jerry Cates (1938-2011). 1 1/8" band, 2 1/4" shank, 1 3/4" rowel. Mounted outside with silver flower button, three silver pieces on shank, silver corner piece and copper circle flanked by silver triangles on band. Inside has copper button, silver shank tip, three silver circles on band. All hand cut and hand engraved. Original blue finish beginning to patina to brown. Marked "CATES" and "870" under inside hangers. Unworn. Jerry was co-winner of the first Adolph Bayers Spurmaker Award along with Billy Klapper. Must have pair for your collection. .. $1850 ..
