Description:
We are a mature and motivated young family (40 and 34) with a ten year old daughter, seeking an opportunity to utilize our strengths and experience to better your operation. We are BQA Certified, and have a broad range of ranch experience in a variety of different settings. We are looking for a place where we can work together, and we aren’t afraid of hard work! We both have extensive experience in all phases of beef cattle production...from calving heifers to record keeping to feedlot, and are up-to-date with current vaccination and drug protocols for maximum herd health. We like to learn and stay updated in the industry while still valuing time-proven methods and techniques. We are willing to do all the work associated with operating a ranch, but greatly enjoy time horseback, using our horses for work. As a family we all ride extensively, and we keep a small string of solid work-horses that any one of us can ride. We desire to stay in or near the mountains, and would consider a position where we moved seasonally such as riding on a forest permit in the summer. Our daughter is home-schooled which allows our schedule to be flexible. She works with us regularly for long days and is a good helper. We have experience with purebred seedstock and commercial, as well as some experience with AI. We like to take initiative and are capable of working well alone.
