Tuff is a 10 year old registered Gypsy Vanner gelding with the experience, training, and personality to make him the unicorn you spend years looking for and hope to never sell. Tuff’s current family is heading in a different direction and will miss him dearly. This decision hasn’t been made lightly, and they hope to find him a loving home where he will be cherished and enjoyed for all he has to offer. Tuff is always first to meet you at the gate looking for attention and affection. He is extremely personable and loves people! Tuff has extensive experience riding on mountain trails up to 13,000 ft in elevation, swimming in glacier lakes, crossing rivers, participating in 4-H shows and parades, and gathering cattle out on the ranch. He is very versatile! He has been to working cow clinics, ridden English, jumped over cross rails and has spent time with Reiner trainers. He’s had adults ride him as well as kids as little as 8. Tuff has dragged logs and calves, passed cars on the road, and encountered dirt bikes on the trails without a care. He has even ridden to multiple elementary school pickups and handled the schoolyard traffic with ease. This spring he was featured on the inside cover of an online and in print newspaper, as he was ridden bareback by a youth through deep snow. Tuff is a well trained horse who is comfortable in a variety of settings and enjoys all of the attention he receives. One of Tuff’s standout qualities is his incredibly comfortable trot and exceptionally smooth lope. He is a pleasure to ride both in and out of the arena, bareback too! He is happy to walk along when asked, but he is not a deadhead who requires constant pushing, like many other gypsies. When asked to move out, he can pick up the pace with ease and look good doing it. If you appreciate the way a luxury European SUV drives, Tuff might just be your guy! Tuff is well broke and handy, with the ability to open gates, cross water, and side pass with ease, as well as a big stop! He has a big presence wherever he goes, and his striking blue roan tobiano coat is sure to turn heads and make him a conversation piece wherever he travels. Tuff has experience carrying riders of different ages and abilities and offers the versatility to enjoy in a variety of disciplines and settings. He has experience carrying a flag and riding in large parades through downtown Denver. He is the kind of horse you can take in many different directions and enjoy in a million different ways. He has trailered all over the western states for events without issue, he travels well, drinks and eats on the road. He gets along well in a herd and has no issues with mares or other geldings. Tuff is good for the farrier, bathing, grooming, and hauling. He has no known history of health issues, has no vices, and is an easy keeper. No maintenance required. He has been kept on alfalfa at trainers and grass hay at home with no issues adapting. Tuff is 100% sound, with no blemishes. He has 5 panel negative test results from UC Davis, shown in the photos. Tuff also sells with a pre-purchase exam (PPE) completed by an equine veterinarian, documenting his soundness and overall health, with results shown in the photos.
