Description:
CHICK FROM A ROSE — “HOSS”

9-Year-Old Sorrel Gelding | 14.3 HH | 1,100 lbs

If you’re looking for a flashy, talented gelding that can go from the roping pen to a full day’s work on the ranch, take a look at Hoss!

Hoss is a 9-year-old, eye-catching sorrel gelding with a gorgeous flaxen mane and tail, a big hip, and all the shape you could want! Standing 14.3 hands and weighing approximately 1,100 pounds, he’s the perfect size with plenty of substance, athletic ability, and eye appeal.

In the arena, Hoss is a great heel horse with the athleticism and ability to make roping enjoyable. Outside of the roping pen, he really shines as an exceptional ranch and trail horse. Hoss is incredibly sure-footed, confident, and dependable when it comes to navigating different terrain. Whether you’re riding through rough country, covering miles on the trails, or putting in a long day of ranch work, he handles it all with confidence. He has zero spook when he’s out ranching or on the trails, making him a pleasure to ride outside. He watches where he puts his feet, takes care of his rider, and is comfortable traveling through all kinds of country.

Hoss also has some fancy buttons! He will spin around, slide stop, change leads, and carry a flag. He’s athletic, handy, and has a nice handle on him. He’s a fun horse for someone who appreciates a gelding with some training and ability.

Hoss is best suited for a confident, experienced horseman. While he is exceptionally confident and solid under saddle out on the ranch and trails, he can be a little watchy and aware of his surroundings when being handled on the ground. For that reason, we wouldn’t recommend him for a beginner or someone who lacks confidence handling horses. We want to be upfront about his personality and find him a home where his abilities will be appreciated.

With his beautiful flaxen mane and tail, striking sorrel color, and versatility both inside and outside the arena, Hoss is sure to get noticed wherever he goes.

If you’re looking for a sharp-looking heel horse that can also put in an honest day’s work on the ranch and confidently take you down the trails, Hoss is worth a look!
