If you’re looking for a prospect for ranch riding, roping, cow horse events, or an all-around ranch partner, Payday deserves a look. KT Double the Payday Born: March 30, 2025 Color: Palomino Sire: KT OneShadie Captain (“Cappy”) Dam: KT Easter Bunny (“Peanut”) Genetic testing: 5-panel N/N; IMM/N Price: $4,500 His sire, Cappy, is by Captains Double Coy (“Double”) and out of A Little Shadie Chic (“Shadie”). Shadie had a successful NRHA reining career, including the 2006 Reserve Regional Experience Championship in Region One, and earned multiple AQHA points. She later carried young riders in the show pen before becoming a broodmare—a useful combination of performance and a mind worth passing along. Shadie is by Comandalena, who earned over $143,000 and 260.5 AQHA points. Her dam side brings in A Little Shady Jac, an NRHA earner of more than $17,000. Other notable names in the pedigree include Hollywood Jac 86, Smart Little Lena, Doc Tom Tucker, and Fritz Command. Cappy’s sire, Double, was professionally trained and later used on the ranch. He had natural cow ability and the steady disposition we appreciate in a working horse. We still use several of his daughters on the ranch, and Kade ropes off two of them. They have been easy to break, willing, and serious about working cattle. Those are credentials that matter when the show clothes come off and there’s work to do. Payday’s dam, KT Easter Bunny (“Peanut”), is a sweet-natured dunalino mare with just enough sass to keep life interesting. She is by KT Heza Pana Dude, a son of Zinks Major Kid and out of Panas May Day. Her pedigree includes Pana Dude, Major Bonanza, Skipper W, and Skipster, adding foundation breeding to the performance lines on top. Payday offers an appealing mix of reining bloodlines and practical ranch breeding, with plenty of potential for someone looking to develop a versatile young horse. The palomino color is a bonus—the family behind him is the real selling point. PEDIGREE Sire: KT OneShadie Captain Dam: KT Easter Bunny 25 visitors have viewed this ad
