Description:
VINTAGE MERL HAGGARD

$12,000+ NRHA Earner | NRBC Level 3 Non Pro Finalist | Exceptional All-Around Prospect

Vintage Merl Haggard is the kind of horse that doesn’t come along often. With over $12,000 in NRHA earnings in the Non Pro and Open divisions, along with a Level 3 Non Pro Finalist title at the 2026 National Reining Breeders Classic, Merl has proven himself in the show pen—and his versatility extends far beyond the arena.

Merl is an exceptional choice for someone looking to learn the sport of reining, develop their skills, or step into a horse capable of taking them to the next level. He is willing, dependable, and uncomplicated to ride, making him a horse that can help his rider gain confidence while still having the ability to be competitive.

Away from the show pen, Merl truly sets himself apart. He is a dependable ranch and trail partner, willing to cross over into whatever the day brings. Nothing seems to rattle him, and he goes about his job with the same quiet confidence whether he’s in the arena, outside on the ranch, or headed down the trail.

His eye-catching extended trot opens the door to a future in Ranch Riding, while his smooth lope and simple, easy lead changes make him a pleasure to ride and a horse with plenty of potential in multiple arenas.

And perhaps Merl’s greatest quality isn’t found on a résumé.

He is a horse you can trust.

Merl is more than a talented reining horse—he’s a trusted friend, a willing partner, and the kind of horse that captures your heart the moment you get around him. He is steady, dependable, and ready to take his next rider wherever they want to go.

If you’re searching for a proven athlete with an exceptional mind, genuine versatility, and the heart to become a friend for a lifetime, Vintage Merl Haggard deserves your attention.
