Description:
We seek an experienced Farm/Ranch Laborer in rural Northwest Montana, to support all daily operations of our ranch. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather is necessary. Experience in Field Tractor operation, animal/livestock care, equipment operation, maintenance, and all general activities pertaining to health and productivity of livestock, crops, ranch buildings and land stewardship.



This job is full-time. We seek a motivated individual with experience in the skills and responsibilities listed, who can function as part of our team with a positive attitude.



Responsibilities



Operate Tractors and farm machinery including tractor implements and haying equipment, skidsteers, forklifts, power tools, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on farm machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation.

Handle manual labor tasks such as heavy lifting, planting, harvesting, chain saw work, mowing of trails and interior roads;

Animal care such as feeding, watering, cleaning of facilities, grooming, and health monitoring of livestock and animals including horses, cattle, dogs, cats, and chickens

Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper handling procedures for animals and equipment while ensuring a safe working environment.

Support livestock management activities including fencing repairs, animal handling, and ensuring proper shelter conditions.

Assist with general farm upkeep including cleaning tools, organizing supplies, and maintaining records related to farm operations.

Operation of chain saws and various equipment for clearing of properties, interior roads, downed trees and limbs.

Maintenance of fence, and awareness of all security measures of property.

Skills



Proven Tractor Operation and experience.

Certification or experience operating forklifts, agricultural tractors, heavy equipment, and power tools.

Strong animal care skills with knowledge of livestock handling and animal husbandry practices.

Mechanical knowledge for repairing agricultural machinery and performing routine maintenance tasks a plus.

Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina outdoors.

Must be familiar with agriculture/crop planting and care/haying.

Experience with safety standards in ranch environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures including MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations).

Outdoor work experience across various weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This position seeks a hardworking individual with personal work ethic standards that can function efficiently under our Ranch Manager and also without supervision while maintaining a positive attitude. We seek someone who is comfortable in a rural setting of Northwest Montana and who enjoys working within ranch and farm activities



Pay: DOE and includes benefits after probation
