Description:
We are looking for an experienced, dependable cattleman to join our operation in a year-round Assistant Cattle Manager/Livestock Operations position.



We run approximately 1,200 mother cows, 600 yearling heifers and 500 bulls in a large scale, seedstock program. This is an important position within the operation, working closely with the ranch manager and ownership. Ranch owners work alongside the crew and never ask anyone to do any more of you than they ask of themselves.



The right person will be expected to take ownership of responsibilities and work independently, while also helping direct a small crew. Responsibilities will include:

• Cattle care, herd health and calving

• Forest permit cattle and grazing rotations

• Livestock water systems

• Fence maintenance and pasture management

• AI and breeding work

• Bull development and bull deliveries

• Haying and equipment operation

• General ranch maintenance and repairs

• Helping lead 2+ other employees when needed



We are looking for someone with strong stockmanship, good judgment, mechanical ability and a strong work ethic. Seedstock experience, AI breeding season experience, data experience, welding and equipment skills are all a plus.

This is not a position where someone will be expected to manage the entire ranch alone but allows a genuine path to grow into more responsibilities over time and the opportunity to step up and take charge of significant portions of the operation when needed.
