HERE’S ONE HECK OF A SET OF HEIFERS. There are 40 head in this group, sorted right out of roughly 45 total, and they’re home-raised, one-iron heifers coming straight off the Otwell Ranch. The Otwells are selling out, so this is the last group of cattle they own, and they’ve spent years putting together the genetics behind these girls. We’ve sold their cattle for years, and buyers have been mighty happy with what they’ve taken home. These heifers should weigh right around 950 to 1,000 lbs at delivery, they’re very gentle, well filled out, and just an awfully fancy, good-quality set from end to end. There’ll be six to ten Black Baldies in the group with the balance being solid black. They’re bred to registered low birth weight Angus bulls from Cherry Creek and Flying M and will start calving March 15th for 45 days. Delivery can be taken October 1st. If you know the Otwell cattle, you already know what kind they’ve raised, and if you don’t, this last set of home-raised heifers is a pretty darn good introduction.
