Crawford Cattle LLC, Winnemucca, NV



Seeking to hire experienced individual for seasonal cowboy position starting immediately and running through January. Full time could be possible for the right candidate. Position is for the Grayson Ranch, which is responsible for:



-Backgrounding weaned calves from all ranches/divisions of Crawford Cattle

-Caring for all cattle in the feedlot

-Developing replacement heifers

-Caring for first calf heifers, bull battery, and broken mouth cow herd inside and on BLM allotments

-Repairing some fence



Position answers directly to Grayson Lead-off/Feedlot Manager who answers to Ranch Management



Skills Required:

Candidate must be able to

-Rope (catch on both ends in branding and outside doctoring scenarios)

-Read cattle well

-Practice good horsemanship and have desire to improve

-Handle cattle horseback (sort, gather big country, load trucks, brand, weigh, trail, etc.)

-Identify sickness in cattle and have knowledge of vaccines and cattle meds

-Provide and shoe own horses (3 minimum, Ranch feeds up to 8)



Other:

- Will work with other Grayson crew members

- Working dogs encouraged at lead-off’s discretion and must be well-mannered or kenneled

- Outside horses ok as long as used for work



Compensation:

-Competitive salary based on skills and experience

-Housing and utilities included (best suited for singles)

-Keep for horses
