Live-On Ranch Caretaker Opportunity at Healing River Ranch - Camp Verde, Arizona



Seeking an experienced horse and ranch caretaker for a unique live-on opportunity at our private nonprofit ranch sanctuary on the Verde River.



This full-time position is ideal for an individual or couple with solid, verifiable horse and ranch experience who values a quiet, purposeful lifestyle.



Responsibilities include:



🐴Feeding horses and livestock while following established protocols

🐑Monitoring animal health and recognizing when care or triage is needed

💧Cleaning and refilling water troughs

🚜Operating a skid steer and ranch equipment safely

🌿Grounds maintenance, weed control, fencing, repairs, and seasonal projects

🌦️Maintaining water systems, evaporative coolers, and winterizing habitats & structures

⏱️Working independently while managing time and priorities effectively



📋The ideal applicant is dependable, physically capable of repeatedly handling hay bales and feed bags, communicates well, and has practical ranch maintenance skills. Experience with welding, plumbing, fencing, landscaping, or general construction is a plus.



Compensation includes:



* Competitive pay with generous housing package

* Private furnished one-bedroom, one-bath home with washer and dryer

* Utilities included

* Well-behaved dogs are welcome with approval.

* Horses welcome with approval.



This is a year-round, rain-or-shine independent contractor position. We maintain a quiet, drama-free, adult-only environment. No smoking, recreational drug use, or excessive alcohol use.
