Description:
Chewy is a 10-year-old grade gelding that was born and raised on my father-in-law’s ranch. We’ve owned him since day one, so we know everything about him.



Standing 15.1 hands and weighing around 1,250 pounds, Chewy is a big-boned, stout, powerful gelding with all the shape and substance you could want. He’s been a true ranch horse that will go all day. We have dragged thousands of calves to the fire, loaded bulls, and rode the forest permits.



We’ve also started multiple colts alongside Chewy, and he’s handled it like a champ. He’s quiet, cool-minded, and stands strong when you have one snubbed off to him.



In the arena, Chewy is a phenomenal head horse and is also suitable for a starting off breakaway roper. He stands like a statue in the box, leaves flat, and runs to the hip exactly the way you want one to. He gives the same trip every time. We will run through a traditional barrier with no problem. He’s won money in the heading and in the breakaway.



My wife and I have both headed on him, and she also breakaway on him for a few years. We feel he’s best suited for 12-and-down ropers or anyone who likes a horse that runs to the hip and lets you rope.



Chewy is 100% sound. He does have a few small ranch scars, but they’re purely cosmetic and nothing to be concerned about.
