Description:
Complete age dispersal of our coming 6-10 year old Angus-based commercial spring calving cows. Due to start calving March 1st. They run on bigger country at 5500’-7000’ of elevation. Having always been on leased ranches, my goal with the cattle is to make them ready to go about anywhere in the west. I put a lot of pressure on fertility, and select bulls for ease of fleshing, ability to travel to water at altitude, medium milk production, medium frames and superior carcass traits. We strive to make them handle well horseback, with a dog, and on foot in close quarters.



These cows will sell on a video market, after we wean calves and preg-check in the fall. Probably as two California legal load lots with a reasonably structured option to take them all.



A lot: 36 hd. coming 6-7 year old red and rwf. ~90% Coming 7s, ~25% being rwf.



B lot: 36 hd. coming 7, 8, 9, 10 year olds black, bwf, red and rwf. ~40% coming 10s, 30% coming 9s, 15% coming 8s, 15% coming 7s. ~65% black hided, and 60% of total being white faced.



Bred to registered black angus sons of Fireball, Rawhide, Resilient, Payweight, Brutus, Exclusive and Man In Black from Thomas Angus, South Mountain Cattle, Salmon Tract, Beitia Livestock, and one Hoffman Hereford polled son of Stanfield. In the past I have also bought bulls from Memory Angus, Spring Cove Ranch, Chandler Herefords and Udy Cattle. One horned cow and a few scurs, a couple are hereford marked.



Approximately 50% will be home raised 1-iron, and the rest are 2-iron, purchased off of two eastern Oregon ranches either 6 or 9 years ago. These cows have excellent fertility and health records, all bangs vaccinated. They get 7-way, Ivermectin injectable, and pour-on in the fall.



I am posting here now to give folks plenty of time to come see the cattle, where they live, and the calves they raise. If you would like to view them, I would be glad to take you on a tour. Pete Paris would be a great reference on the cattle if you know him.
