This is a low stress handling operation, and the owner is looking for an experienced, self motivated individual who can be trusted to run the day to day with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Assist with calving, including tagging and keeping accurate records Monitor first calf heifers and move pairs to pasture Help organize and run cattle brandings, including several smaller brandings and one larger main branding each spring Handle windmill and well maintenance and releathering, tank setting and leveling, road grading, and fencing including electric fence Operate and maintain equipment including a skid steer, hay equipment, and bale movers Support haying from cutting through baling and hauling, including some hauling to more remote hay ground Assist with preconditioning in late summer,  Help gather and monitor bulls and doctor sick cattle as needed Assist with weaning, sorting, and shipping cattle in the fall, and moving cattle to winter pasture Feed cattle through the winter using a bale processor and cake, with hay fed primarily during calving or severe weather Check water and look after the property and livestock when the owner is away Qualifications Minimum of five years of hands on ranch experience required Experience working on sandhills ranches strongly preferred Comfortable riding horseback and working cattle in a low stress manner Working knowledge of windmill and well maintenance, basic welding, and electric fencing Experience running a skid steer and hay equipment is a plus Self directed and comfortable making decisions independently, including helping organize brandings and crews Comfortable using a smartphone for record keeping and communication Trustworthy and reliable, particularly when the owner is away from the property for extended periods Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on $3,000 to $3,800 2 bed House provided  Feed up to 2 horses  Insurance stipend and other benefits open for discussion  Opportunity to earn or purchase cattle of your own after a year with the operation  Flexible time off during slower parts of the year, with schedules built around the operation’s busy seasons Apply - https://recruitcrm.io/apply/17835286990840075108qos Posted 07-13-26 81 visitors have viewed this ad
