Description:
We are an intensive, registered, and commercial cow-calf program seeking a qualified individual to join our family-owned and oriented operation. This is a long-term employment opportunity, many of our employees have been with us for a decade or more, and we’re looking for someone to join our team.

Our operation primarily utilizes horses to move and work cattle; however, this is NOT a full-time riding, horseback position. We raise and develop our own bulls and replacement females in our own feedlot. You will have to spend time in the feedlot feeding cattle, sorting, identifying, and doctoring, assisting with production sales, and other general ranch duties.

We produce two production sales a year, a bull sale in the spring and a bred female sale in the fall. Winter and spring are very busy, the feedlot is full, cows to feed, calving, tagging, AIing, fence maintenance and branding. There will be long days during busy seasons and occasional 7-day work weeks.

There are two different ranch locations, and cattle are moved to timber pasture during the summer. The summer grazing season involves extensive fence maintenance and pasture checks, along with occasional riding to move cattle around. Fall is also a busy season that requires long days. It will include: gathering, pregging, preconditioning, and weaning.

Some of the desired skills we are looking for:

• Strong animal health experience preferred, identifying and treating sick cattle

• Experience calving cows out.

• Tractor and machinery operating – cattle are fed with a feeder in the winter

• Fence maintenance and repair

• AI (artificial insemination) experience would be a plus

• Machinery maintenance and repair

• Organized, Self-motivated, work individually or with a team
