Meet Poncho, a handsome 13 year old gelding standing 15.1 hands tall with the kind of big, stout build that’s made to last. He’s a solid made horse with plenty of bone, able to comfortably carry riders of all different sizes. Poncho is the type that gives you confidence the moment you swing a leg over him. He has a calm, honest way about him and always seems to take care of his rider, making him the kind of horse people naturally feel comfortable around.

Around the barn, Poncho is as easygoing as they come. He’s always easy to catch in the pasture and will gladly leave his buddies to come meet you at the gate. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly in the cross ties for grooming and tacking, and is patient and respectful to handle. Whether he’s living in a stall or turned out in the pasture, he settles in easily and gets along well with other horses, naturally staying lower in the pecking order.

Under saddle, Poncho is a safe, uncomplicated ride with a solid foundation. He neck reins well, has a dependable stop, and rides around with a quiet, willing attitude. He trots nice circles, picks up both leads while loping, and stays soft and easy to ride. Poncho will confidently carry a flag, tolerate a rope being swung from his back, and has helped push goats around the farm. Outside the arena is where Poncho really shines. He’s happy to lead the trail ride, quietly travel in the middle, or simply follow along at the back of the group.
