Description:
Ranch Hand Open Position:

This is a full-time position. Benefits include paid time off, beginning with two weeks of vacation per year, 401(k) savings plan with match and non-elective employer contributions, and medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance. Other benefits include healthcare and dependent care flexing spending accounts and disability benefit plans.



Potential Salary Range: $29-33 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime eligible.

Location: Rifle, CO



Primary duties/responsibilities include:



Livestock care:

• Feeding and watering animals, monitoring herd health, assisting with calving, treating minor injuries, and pasture rotation

• Applicants will be expected to feed domestic animals as well



Facility upkeep:

• Repairing fences, maintaining barns and stables, cleaning stalls, and making necessary repairs to ranch infrastructure.



Equipment operation:

• Operating large tractors and implements, swathers, hay baling equipment, UTVs, and other farm machinery to transport feed, haul supplies, and perform various ranch tasks.



Field and General Maintenance:

• Irrigation: flood and side roll - Overseeing and harvesting of a large hay crop.

• Fence installation and maintenance

• Ability to perform tasks such as landscaping, snow removal, and general clean-up around the ranch, weed control and mitigation



Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and be comfortable riding horses

• Experience with different types of livestock, understanding their behavior, and ability to safely handle them

• Knowledge of farm equipment operation and basic maintenance skills

• A valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate farm vehicles is required

• Working some nights and weekends may be required

• Experience with maintaining a detailed cow/calf list

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Proactive, dependable and must have reliable transportation to and from work

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Good communication skills

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience working on a ranch
