We are looking for someone seasoned in running an operation like this and potentially helping with the marketing of these cattle so we can continue on this legacy. What this is not…. is an opportunity to experiment with your college professors theories! We do raise all the feed for our cattle and contribute to the feed for a local 10,000 head feedlot where our cattle have resided the past 20 years. That has given us the opportunity to go through the Source and Age verify process to allow our cattle to be shipped to Europe / Japan and any other countries requiring this authentication. In addition we are able to tie the kill data back to not only the registered cattle and their actual ultrasound measurements but also the commercial herd to know what mamas are raising prime grade A steaks!! What all this means is that you aren’t simply a cowboy riding green horses and ropin’ cattle all day. In your response we will be looking for a written listing of any skills relevant to this type of operation including any type of farm machingery / semi’s / spread sheet and ration building/Cattle Data software experience / doctoring / mechanical aptitude / (typing is a skill we require along with the obvious record keeping that goes along with it … so computer skills are a must and apps with a few paragraphs will not cut it and will likely be ignored) Salary: Obviously depends on the type of experience you have. We are also considering bonus opportunities like running a few head of your own or possibly a bull sale net percentage etc..
