This position is best suited for hardworking, dependable individuals who enjoy ranch life and working with horses. Experience with horses is required. This is a horse breeding operation, so applicants must be comfortable around mares, foals, and daily ranch responsibilities. A spouse may already have a full-time outside job but should be willing to assist periodically with heavier ranch tasks such as: • Weed eating • Cutting down trees • Operating larger equipment and machinery when needed Main Job Responsibilities • Feeding horses and cleaning stalls morning and evening, 7 days a week • Saturday and Sunday duties are generally light and consist mainly of feeding, cleaning, and occasional catch-up work due to weather • Assisting with foaling mares and working alongside the owner with horse care • Monitoring horses closely for illness or lameness and reporting any concerns immediately • Caring for owner’s two dogs when owner is out of town • Driving a truck and goose-neck trailer safely and confidently when needed • Unloading grain bags and shavings, stacking hay, fence work, fall leaf cleanup, and assisting with other general physical ranch duties as needed • General ranch maintenance including mowing, weed eating, spraying weeds, keeping the barn and shop clean and organized, and maintaining equipment within your level of knowledge and experience • General property upkeep may include occasional light housekeeping within the owner’s home, weeding flower beds as needed, helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept ranch environment, and other ranch duties as needed Housing & Accommodations • 2 bedroom / 2 bath home approximately 1½ years old • Utilities and trash service included • Employee responsible for their own internet service Family & Pet Considerations Due to the nature of the ranch operation, the number of horses, equipment use, working dogs, and overall safety concerns, this position is not suitable for applicants with children living on-site. Dogs may be considered upon approval only: • No aggressive dogs • No cat chasers • Dogs must be safe around horses and other dogs Due to the number of horses on the property, outside horses cannot be accommodated.
