Description

Lazy T Ranch is a privately owned working ranch located in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. We run a 1,000-head cow-calf, yearling, and performance horse operation and are looking for an experienced Seasonal Cowboy to join our crew for the busy season.

This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in good stockmanship, solid horsemanship, and getting ranch work done safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. The Seasonal Cowboy will assist with daily cattle work, horse care, fencing, gathering, doctoring, pasture moves, and general ranch operations under the direction of ranch management.

Responsibilities

- Ride, gather, move, sort, and doctor cattle as needed.

- Assist with branding, processing, shipping, and seasonal cattle work.

- Monitor cattle health, water, feed, pasture conditions, and fences.

- Help with yearlings, cow-calf pairs, and performance horse-related work.

- Maintain and repair fences, corrals, water systems, and ranch infrastructure.

- Operate pickups, trailers, tractors, and basic ranch equipment as needed.

- Care for assigned ranch horses and maintain tack and equipment.

- Work independently or with a crew in a safe, dependable, and timely manner.

- Support the Ranch Manager and ownership with day-to-day ranch needs.

Requirements

- Prior ranch/cowboy experience required.

- Strong horseback skills and practical cattle-handling experience.

- Ability to rope and doctor cattle outside preferred.

- Comfortable working long days, variable schedules, and in changing weather conditions.

- Able to work independently, take direction, and communicate clearly.

- Must be dependable, honest, respectful, and willing to pitch in where needed.

- Basic mechanical, fencing, irrigation, or equipment experience is a plus.

- Personal horses may be considered with approval.

Housing & Compensation

- Competitive seasonal wage, DOE.

- Housing provided.

- Additional details on horse pasture/feed, utilities, beef, days off, and season dates can be discussed based on experience and ranch needs.
