Ranch Jobs: Wanted - Ranch Hand - Wyoming #211121 [ask seller a question] [report to admin] Posted by: ziddings [see other ads by this poster] City: Laramie [see other ads in this city] State: Wyoming [see other ads in this state] Job Title: Ranch Hand Employer: X Bar Cattle CO Salary: Competitive, Experience Based Room & Board: 4 Bed 2 Bath Home Phone #: Please Email or Fax click to view fullsize image Description: Large South East Wyoming Heifer Development and Hay Operation seeking candidate for new opportunity: This person’s primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): •Feeding cattle during the wintertime using a TMR wagon / payloader and or tractor with hay processor. •Assisting hay crew to put up approximately 3500 ton of Alfalfa, Native and Improved Grass Hay on flood irrigated meadows and under pivots during the summer. o This would include all aspects of a large-scale hay operation using modern John Deere equipment. Swathing, Raking, Baling (round and 3x3,) Stacking and Loading Trucks. •Flood Irrigating hay meadows and pasture. •We operate 5 Valley pivots, any experience with pivots would be a huge plus. •Extensive cattle processing. •Assisting with crew to calve heifers each spring. (Night shifts are not necessary.) •Annual fence repair, some fence building and replacement. •Maintaining ranch infrastructure including buildings, roads, stock water systems, windbreaks and corrals. o We do a fair amount of building renovation in the fall and wintertime so construction experience would be a big help. •Light mechanical, including oil changes and P.M. on trucks, tractors, trailers, etc. •Assisting with water development projects such as springs, wells, pipelines and stock tanks. •Operation of heavy equipment such as back hoe, skid steer, dozer, road grader, dump truck and excavator. During the summer months we take care of approximately 1500 head of bred heifers and cow calf pairs on pasture. Cattle work is primarily done horseback but we are not requiring it for this position. Experience moving cattle and doctoring in the pasture is not necessary but would be considered positively in the hiring process. For those who are able to complete these tasks from the back of a horse, we will provide feed and pasture for your horses with details to be discussed during an interview. One unique thing about our operation is that you will get the opportunity to work on our other ranches around South East, WY as we share help during busy seasons. This will include branding, preg checking, preconditioning, shipping and much more. So, the opportunity to see new county and work with other crews is plentiful.
