This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who truly enjoys ranch life and wants to be part of a good operation where they can grow and put down roots. The ranch runs approximately 250 head and needs someone with solid cow sense who can handle day-to-day responsibilities with confidence and little supervision. If you enjoy working cattle horseback, feeding, haying, and being involved in all aspects of a working ranch, this could be a great fit. What You’ll Be Doing Daily cattle feeding with tractor and bale processor Checking and maintaining water systems Monitoring cow/calf pairs and identifying health issues early Assisting with calving and pair management Gathering, sorting, shipping, and moving cattle to pasture Riding horseback through cattle and pasture country Haying including mowing, raking, baling, and moving bales Fence repair, ranch maintenance, and general upkeep Monitoring pastures and handling tasks independently What They’re Looking For 3–5 years of hands-on ranch experience Strong cow sense and ability to read cattle Comfortable horseback and around cattle in all seasons Experience operating feeding and hay equipment Self-motivated and able to work independently Dependable, honest, and low-drama Clean driving record Someone who values rural living and long-term opportunity Compensation & Perks $3,000–$3,500/month DOE Raise opportunity after 6 months Remodeled 2-bedroom farmhouse provided Utilities included Half a beef annually Up to 3 horses welcome Well-mannered dogs welcome Flexible time off outside peak seasons Stable, long-term opportunity with room for growth This is a great fit for someone or a family looking for a steady ranch opportunity in a beautiful part of Montana with a good operation that values hard work, responsibility, and commitment.
