Description:
We are a mid-sized cow/calf operation looking for a hired ranch hand. This position would primarily consist of taking care of cows during the summer months and helping feed hay in the winter. We do all our sorting and pairing in the springtime horseback. Once the cows are turned out on the summer range, it is all done with four wheelers and a dart gun. We run on large country and much of it is watered with wells and pipelines. Although we run on a community allotment, much of the time will be spent alone, salting, checking troughs, doctoring, some fencing, and moving cows. We usually try to do a fence/corral project in the fall. Wintertime is pretty relaxed. Pay is DOE. Housing and beef are supplied as well as a company pickup for work uses. We will feed up to two horses. Dogs are ok as long as you can control them. Walmart is an hour and a half away, but there’s a good school and post office 20 miles away. Texts will get you the fastest response.
