If you need one that is guaranteed to be safe and gentle for the entire family, and broke to do every job on the ranch, then take a look at Boone. This is the most honest horse ever and absolutely broke the best, and will not get you or the kiddos hurt. Boone is currently being ridden and used by a 75 year old man, and his previous owner was a 12 year old little cowboy who rode him next to Grandpa working cattle on a big ranch out in West Texas. He is a coal black 12 year gelding, 14.2hh and nicely built with a big hip and very kind eye. Boone has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, and sorting pairs. He has been ridden the right way and is one hand broke with an excellent handle, a light mouth, and the smoothest trot you could sit to all day long. Boone has been there, done that and is not spooked or bothered by anything, and is very friendly. You can saddle him up on a cold morning and hop on knowing you will not get bucked off. Boone is good on both leads, will sidepass and work a gate. He is an excellent trail horse as well and will fit just about anyone who can sit up and hold the reins. He will cross water with no problems, go through tall brush, and is very sure footed. Boone has excellent ground manners, is easy to catch, good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, and loads and hauls well. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
