My family and I are looking for a permanent opportunity where we can settle in, contribute, and be an asset for years to come. We would prefer to stay in northeastern New Mexico but would consider the right opportunity in parts of Colorado or Texas. I have a solid background in cow/calf and yearling operations and am experienced in all aspects of day-to-day ranch work, including gathering, sorting, branding, roping, processing, shipping, and doctoring cattle. I am comfortable pulling calves and understand the demands, long hours, and attention to detail required during calving season. I take pride in handling livestock correctly and efficiently, whether working independently or as part of a crew. My horsemanship is a strong part of what I bring to an operation. I have started two-year-old colts, corrected problem horses, and trained and finished saddle horses for both ranch use and sale. I am confident riding outside, gathering cattle in all types of country, and roping off green or seasoned horses. I have also managed remudas and maintained horse health, usability, and consistency. In previous roles, I have taken on leadership responsibilities, including managing daily ranch operations and overseeing overall organization and productivity. I have experience maintaining grazing programs, monitoring and improving water systems, and handling general ranch upkeep. I am skilled in building and repairing fence, including hot wire systems, and have been involved in ranch construction projects. I can operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and feed trucks, and I am capable of troubleshooting and handling repairs when needed. In addition to traditional ranch work, I have extensive experience as a hunting guide and camp manager. I have packed mules, organized and maintained backcountry camps, guided hunters in rugged terrain, and ensured proper game care and client safety. I am confident navigating with GPS and topographic maps and understand the importance of representing an operation professionally while providing a high level of service. I am dependable, physically capable, and ready to step in wherever needed. I take pride in working hard, staying organized, and being someone an employer can rely on day in and day out. My wife, Katie, is a strong asset as well. She is experienced with cattle, knowledgeable in horsemanship, and willing to help in all aspects of ranch work. She is equally happy taking on more traditional roles such as cooking for the crew, cleaning, and keeping a well-run home. Together, we have two children who live with us full time, as well as another who is with us part of the summer. All of our children are respectful, responsible, and capable riders who have been raised around livestock and ranch life. We are looking for a stable, well-run operation where we can put down roots and contribute long-term.
